Annual General Meeting 2013
PAST EVENT: The 2013 Annual General Meeting kicked off with an update from TTGBC President, Mr. Roger Salloum, who reviewed objectives and achievements in key areas of our strategic focus for the last year, with a view to the coming year. The presentation included a budget review and launch of a new home on the web for TTGBC. Highlights included a near doubling of membership, a tripling of surplus income, successful completion of two LEED Green Associate Training Sessions and successful hosting of two Business and Networking events.
TTGBC's brand new website was officially launched at the AGM! We hope that you will take some time next week to review this website and in particular check out the special Members Directory section which will feature an individual page for each member! This directory will be searchable both alphabetically and by associated tags. Please download and use the editable form to submit updated contact and company profile information so that we can add your current information to the website as soon as possible. Additionally, we encourage members who would like to contribute articles for our blog to indicate such interest to email@example.com.
The President’s update was followed by elections of the new Executive for 2013-2014. The Executive from 2012-2013 were re-elected for the new term, and, following a unanimous vote for the post of VP Public Relations and keen contests for each of the posts of VP Advocacy & Awareness and VP Research & Development, we are pleased to welcome and announce the election to the Executive of the following new officers:
VP Public Relations: Ms. Sarah De Freitas (who prior to the AGM had kindly volunteered assistance to TTGBC and will assume her new position subsequent to approval of her new TTGBC membership status)
VP Advocacy & Awareness : Mr. Ryan Cudjoe
VP Research & Development: Mr. David Evelyn
We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to outgoing Past President Mr. Devanand Ragbir who served diligently on the TTGBC Executive since its inception three years ago.
At the reception after the meeting, we were joined by the Minister of Planning and Sustainable Development, Senator the Honourable Dr. Bhoendradatt Tewarie who made a compelling case for Green strategies in design and development, and discussed measures currently being developed in his Ministry to facilitate and implement this, including the National Spatial Development Strategy.
All in all, a fitting end to a productive year for TTGBC, and an inspiring start for the new term.
We look forward to your continued support and greater participation in the form of volunteering assistance with projects that we have defined for this year. More hands on deck please!
